Papa is the second single release from Perth, Western Australia based Afro dance collective Soukouss Internationale.
The song was written and arranged by singer Quentin Thony with guitarist Mahamudo Selimane and tackles the delicate subject of a husbands infidelity. It's a story as old as the hills... men cheat, end up being caught and bled dry by their wives!
The song features Soukouss' trademark infectious African grooves and guitar magic and is sung in both French and the Congolese language of Lingala.
Guitarist Mahamudo Selimane toured the world with legendary Mozambican band Eyuphuro before settling in Australia. He now mentors the members of Soukouss Internationale in the complexities of Congolese and East African rhythm and song.
